Contour Lines Plugin - OsmAnd is an extension designed for the 'Maps & Navigation - OsmAnd' application. The plugin offers highly detailed offline topographic maps that maintain their quality even when zoomed in or out. These maps can be enhanced with a 3D terrain representation layer known as 'hillshade.' The Contour Lines Plugin — OsmAnd serves as a valuable resource for hikers, tourists, cyclists, and individuals with a passion for topography.

To acquire the contour lines and hillshade maps, navigate to OsmAnd > Download Maps > select your desired country > Contour Lines/Hillshade.

You can activate this information layer by enabling the plugin in OsmAnd > 'Plugins' and also activating OsmAnd > Configure Map > Contour Lines/Hillshade layer.

The global data coverage (spanning from 70 degrees north to 70 degrees south) is derived from measurements obtained through the SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) and ASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer) projects. ASTER, an imaging instrument aboard Terra, NASA's flagship satellite under the Earth Observing System, is a joint initiative involving NASA, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and Japan Space Systems (J-spacesystems).
